Nanotechnology is not a new technology although it has come into light recently.  Mother nature is using nanotechnology from the start of this universe.  Even in this present era, many researchers in the middle of twentieth century worked in this area but their limited success was due to lack of instrumental support. The present fame of nanotechnology can be attributed to discovery of carbon nanotubes, giant magneto resistance, fullerenes etc.  Rapid advancement in instrumentation such as  Transmission Electron Microscope, Scanning Tunneling Microscope,  Atomic Force Microscope,  Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy, etc. has  made the deep study of nanotechnology possible now. 

I have tried to cover most of the disciplines by choosing 17 among them.  Every chapter consists of  detailed aspects of nanotechnology in selected discipline including present scenario, applications, prospects and  information on some relevant  top companies with their  coordinates and brief profiles of associated companies & institutions.
